The 101 number one song of the day had the longest title ever to reach the top but the singer’s memory of the recording session was very short.  At the time he was spending upwards of $3000 a week to feed a drug habit that included valium, cocaine and amphetamines and looking back at that period he wonders that he was still alive. Shortly after the song reached number one, he had an epiphany, cleaned himself up and spent the next several years singing gospel music for which he earned five grammies. While that saved his life, his rock star status was gone. But on April 26, 1975 today’s featured oldie arrived at number one and it would be the last pop hit for B.J. Thomas “(Hey Won’t You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song”

The 101 # 1 Song of the Day–the longest title ever!
