Don’t actually do it, just think about it. Besides, with all this wind, there’d be dust and dirt over everything again in no time.
Today is Drowsy Driver Awareness Day. Today is National Jump Over Things Day.
The 101 number one song of the Day was recorded by the group once known as Bjorn and the Blablus. Remember them? The song had been a top 5 hit once before in 1969 but British entertainer Jonathan King dramatically re-arranged it and released it in England with minor success in 1972. The head of A & R of EMI in Sweden heard the song and decided to encourage one of his groups – the aforementioned Bjorn and the Blablus to record it for themselves. They did. And when it became a hit in their own country they decided to try the American market and it easily surpassed the original version by landing at number one on April 6, 1974. But before that happened, they had to do something about that name: Blablus -which roughly translated into Blue Denim. They decided to keep the color and add a reference to their homeland and thus became “Blue Swede.” Their song, and today’s 101 Number One Song of the Day is Hooked on a Feeling.
Swap or Stop is progressing a bit slower than we’d hoped. Yesterday, Level One proved to be a problem for both our contestants on Money, Money Monday. Here’s one of the questions: If you added all the numbers in our (KVLC) radio frequency (101.1) what do you get? There are 3 ones and a zero, therefore the answer is 3. In case we were playing with a mathematician, we were prepared to accept a “2.1” answer given the fact we’re dealing with a decimal point but that wasn’t the case. Things will start to settle down and we’ll be getting winners soon. We hope!
The Masters is this week and Tiger Woods is back at golf.
Tiger had a practice round at Augusta and talked to the media. Some reports say there are ninety bodyguards and security guards in charge of protecting him. He’s actually worried he may be confronted on the course by a former mistress. In fact, Joslyn James has said she’ll sneak into the tournament and protest with a megaphone.
-Great! Now nobody can get in with a megaphone!!
We’ve all heard that blondes have more fun. In new research from Australia…this might explain it. They found blondes earn 7% more over their lives than non-blondes. And blondes also tend to marry wealthier men – who earn 6% more than men that marry non-blondes. KC is wondering what happened with her.

· About 66% said they currently own an iPhone.
· 92% of iPad owners currently own an iPod.
· The No. 1 planned use of the iPad is to surf the Web (74%), followed by reading books (38%), checking e-mail (34%), and watching videos (26%).
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is at it again. Arpaio has started a program called “Pedal Vision,” in which inmates pedal stationary bikes to generate electricity for television sets. The bikes are customized to turn on connected TV sets once inmates at Phoenix’s Tent City Jail pedal enough to generate 12 volts of electricity. An hour of pedaling equals an hour of television. Arpaio said inmates only will be able to watch television if they pedal. He started the program with female inmates because they seemed more receptive to the idea.
Animal control workers in England were shocked when five tiny 'puppies' dumped in a plastic bag in London turned out to be fox cubs. A passer-by found the tiny quintet in a garden in Stoke Newington and rushed them to the RSPCA Harmsworth Animal Hospital. At first it was thought that the black bundles of fur were Staffordshire bull terrier puppies. The reality, however, proved to be something slightly wilder - they are in fact fox cubs. Just where there mother is and how they came to be dumped in a plastic bag remains a mystery.
And finally, as long as we’re on the subject of cute animal pictures… A giant farm dog and a tiny piglet cuddle up as if they were family after the baby runt was dismissed by its own mother. Surrogate mum Katjinga, an eight-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback, took on motherly duties for grunter Paulinchen - a tiny pot-bellied pig - and seems to be taking the adoption in her stride. Lonely Paulinchen was luckily discovered moments from death and placed in the care of the dog who gladly accepted it as one of her own. Thankfully for the two-week old mini porker, Katjinga fell in love with her at first sight and saved her bacon.
That’s it for now…tomorrow is No Housework Day, no bed-making, no dishes, no trash, no guilt. Hmmm, we wonder if it’s related to “Think About Spring Cleaning Day?”
