Congratulations to Rick Hermes of Las Cruces who is our latest Level Three winner in Swap or Stop. Rick answered this question correctly: In August on 1961 this city in Germany is divided by a wall and East German will not be allowed free access to the west until 1989. Name this city.

The answer is Berlin and Rick stopped at that point and won the Kodak digital camera he’d selected from the prizes on level three.

The 101 Number One Song of the Day: Almost everyone from that generation will remember the epic battle of the sexes that was successfully waged for womankind by Billie Jean King. She was not only an inspiration to many of her gender, she was also an inspiration for a number one song. Many will recall how she beat court hustler bobby Riggs in a televised match watched by millions of Americans and she became a household name. Later she became player coach for a franchise in the newly formed World Team Tennis League. One of her biggest fans was a pretty famous rock and roll star and after one particularly hard won match, the exuberant fan promised to write her a song. He did and the result was number one on this day in 1975. Her team name was the “Philadelphia Freedoms” --the Fan was Elton John.

It was on this album:

Is the recession over or not? I thought they said it ended last fall. Anyway – a committee of seven economists that study recessions is meeting to determine if it’s over…and when exactly did it end. That’s what they do – they give date certain for the beginning and ending of recessions. Except they can’t figure this one out. They’re not sure. The last two recessions each lasted eight months…but they say this one started in December of 2007 – and we’re in the 28th month. Or not.

The government accountability office released a new report this week on the Postal Service.

It doesn’t look good. In fact, the first sentence in the report reads, ‘The USPS’s business model is not viable!’ They say the way it’s currently configured, there’s no way the Post Office can survive. Even if they cut Saturday delivery, cut employees and raise rates – there’s still a doubt the Post Office will make it. You know the amazing thing about this story? There’s actually something called ‘the government accountability office’…!?!?!

Two prisoners in Argentina escaped prison – dressed like sheep. Apparently they scaled the walls of the prison and put on full sheepskin fleeces to blend in with the thousands of sheep in a nearby field. But the police are confident they’ll catch the two…saying, ‘They can’t pull the wool over our eyes forever.’ But for now, they’re still…on the lamb!  Look below and see if you can spot them.

And finally, there’s a new poll in USA TODAY – 44% of women admit they’ve had a bad hair day that affected their mood and made it a bad day period. And then 26% of women said they’ve actually cried after getting a bad haircut. You know who really suffers? Her husband --when she gets home…and she asks if her hair looks bad.
