I know, it’s tough but we do need them, often when we least expect it.

The 101 number one song of the day would become the first of many number one hits in England for its singer. In fact, he would total up 17 charttoppers in that country despite NEVER touring there. His many fans always held out hope that he would but his manager – Andreas Cornelis van Kuijk – was born in Holland. Although he lived in the U.S. for many years, he never became an American citizen and was worried if he traveled abroad with his famous client, he might not be let back in the states. So he never booked any concerts outside the U.S. But this was still early on in the career managed by the man who by this time was known as Colonel Parker and the song that was number one on April 13, 1957 – It’s Elvis and “All Shook Up”
We mentioned yesterday that Evander Holyfield is back. The 47-year old boxer won the World Boxing Federation’s heavyweight title over the weekend. Now he says he’ll train to unite all the titles and become the undisputed champion. -Of course – given his age…he will have to pass a pretty stringent physical to be allowed to fight again. And during each fight…he will have to wear a Life Alert button.
Conan O’Brien has a new late night gig.
And it’s not FOX where everyone thought he’d end up. Starting in November, he’ll host an 11 pm show on TBS – and the George Lopez Show will be moved back to midnight.
George is playing it cool, indicating he’s happy to have Conan on the TBS lineup. But remember how the whole “Comedian” family came to O’Brien’s defense when he was knocked back to midnight for Jay Leno? We had audio from a couple of years ago from Lopez saying he was no fan of Conan because he wouldn’t have him on his show because George was “not the right kind for his audience.” How long will they stay friends? And will anyone come running to the defense of Lopez claiming he is being hurt by being on later?
And finally, officials in England have issued an alert for exploding breast implants.
The implants were manufactured in France and sold around the world. And apparently they’re twice as likely to explode as standard implants. They say the warning affects over 45,000 women worldwide. And we thought the Toyota recall was scary!!! I can see Congressmen lining up for those hearings!!
