Your Morning Show Blog for Thursday, March 4, 2010

Three days ‘til “D” Day as in Look Who’s Dancing at the Pan American Center. Tickets are going fast…but not as fast as we’d like. They are $12 & $20 and can be purchased at the Pan American Center Box Office, Ticketmaster.com, Whites Music Box and Enchanted Gardens.

Today is Hug a G.I. day. Today is National Grammar Day, a time to honor our language and its rules. Today is Courageous Follower Day, a day to appreciate good followers. Today is Sleeping On The Job Day. In 2002, the German town of Vechta reported that civil servants allowed to sleep for 20 minutes after lunch worked more efficiently and effectively. Some 22 percent of the German population napped.

The 101 number one song of the day was recorded by the group that was so successful that the Beatles were once described as Britain’s answer to these guys. When the song you’re about to hear was at number one on March 4nd, 1963, this particular fabulous foursome became the first group in the history of the Hot 100 to have three consecutive number one singles. And today’s 101 number one song of the day is the record setter – for the Four Seasons (Walk Like a Man)

Speaking of “Look Who’s Dancing”…We’re getting excited about the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars. Where else are you going to see Buzz Aldrin and Pamela Anderson competing for the same title. Think about it. A guy that walked on the moon…and an actual Space Cadet…on the same show!!!

A writer for Ad Age magazine came up with a list of the fifteen biggest brand names for baby boomers. If you’re a boomer – see if you agree with this list: Levis, Harley Davidson, Volkswagen, Slinky, Noxzema, The Beatles, L’Egg’s, Pepsi, Absolut Vodka, Saturday Night Live, Facebook, Frye Boots, Couch bags, Club Med and Clairol.

Here’s the hottest new fad on the plastic surgery front…adding dimples to your face. The surgery costs from $2000 to $5000 – with doctors saying people are lining up for the procedure - because dimples are a sign of youth. So is wearing a diaper…but I’m not go to put one on.

Here’s a weird one – coyotes have been spotted several times in the last few months – in New York City! First, two coyotes were seen wandering around the campus at Columbia University. They’ve been spotted in Central Park…and most recently roaming the streets in Chelsea Park. With all the snow they’ve been having…it’s kind of a surprise nobody’s noticed penguins.
