Swap or Stop goes out with a

bang

Not only did Don Giela of El Paso win two airline tickets to any US destination on Friday morning but later that afternoon Elsie Newton of Las Cruces swapped all the way to level five and correctly named the capital of Brazil to win her airline tickets too!  congratulations to all our Swap or Stop winners and there’s more winning on the way (Did you answer Brasilia?)

Today marks the beginning of World Kindness Day.

Speaking of which – don’t forget your next “on-the-road” morning show this Thursday, November 10 for Coats for Kids.  Mike & KC will be in the Box That Rocks from 6-10 am in front of the Sonic on N. Main.  Can you meet the “101 Challenge?”  Any donation of gently used children’s coats and/or money to buy coats will be gratefully received.

And much thanks to Eric Gunderson and friends from Faith Lutheran Church (and some from Peace Lutheran Church) for spending this past Saturday outside of Walgreen’s collecting coats and cash for the cause.

In addition, Eric has arranged for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans to kick in one dollar for every three they received.

The 101 number one song of the day was written, produced and recorded by a one time “space cowboy” who had turned into a “reclusive plowboy.”

At the time, his personal and business life was in a shambles. He needed a sabbatical and he moved to a remote area near Medford, Oregon and built himself a farm. A year later, he was ready to go back to his music. He called his bandmate buddies and in two weeks had recorded 22 tunes – enough for two albums. The first was released in 1976 and it produced three big hits including one that was number one on November 7th of that year. The onetime “space cowboy” turned “reclusive plowboy” was back – bigtime – with this song – the 101 number one song of the day from Steve Miller – Rock ‘n Me.
