Read on for “Taking back our economy one light bulb at a time.” It’s further down the page and it seems like a great idea.
1960: Massachusetts Senator John Fitzgerald Kennedy defeated Vice President Richard Milhaus Nixon by only 119,000 votes.
Music History: 1994: Hasbro unveiled a new collection of six limited edition commemorative dolls of Elvis Presley. This is Number One:
The 101 number one song of the day was the one that proved to the world that this English Quartet was NOT a one hit wonder among the faceless multitude of British pop groups vying for chart attention in 1965. And it started them on the road to unprecedented longevity.
One of their founding members said to a biographer, “it’s difficult to realize what pressure we were under to keep turning out hits. Each single you made in those days had to be better and to do better…every eight weeks you had to come up with a red-hot song that said it all in two minutes, 30 seconds.” Obviously, they’ve stood up to the pressure for forty years because they’re still selling out stadiums 40 years later – Today’s 101 number one song of the day reached the top of the charts on November 6, 1965 and belongs to the Rolling Stones – (Get Off My Cloud)

One Light Bulb at a Time?
A physics teacher in high school, once told the students that while one grasshopper on the railroad tracks wouldn't slow a train very much, but a billion of them would. With that thought in mind, read the following.
This past weekend I was at Kroger. I needed 60 W light bulbs and Bounce dryer sheets. I was in the light bulb aisle, and right next to the GE brand I normally buy was an off-brand labeled, "Everyday Value.. " I picked up both types of bulbs and compared the stats - they were the same except for the price.. The GE bulbs were more money than the Everyday Value brand but the thing that surprised me the most was the fact that GE was made in MEXICO and the Everyday Value brand was made in - get ready for this - the USA in company in Cleveland, Ohio.
So on to another aisle - Bounce Dryer Sheets ... . . Yep, you guessed it, bounce cost more money and is made in Canada . The Everyday Value brand was less money and MADE IN THE USA ! I did laundry yesterday and the dryer sheets performed just like the Bounce Free I have been using for years and at almost half the price!
I was in Lowes the other day for some reason and just for the heck of it I was looking at the hose attachments. They were all made in China . The next day I was in Ace Hardware and just for the heck of it, I checked the hose attachments there. They were made in USA . Start looking.
In our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else -- even their job.
My grandson likes Hershey's candy. I noticed, though, that it is marked made in Mexico now.
I do not buy it any more.
My favorite toothpaste Colgate is made in Mexico ... Now I have switched to Crest. You have to read the labels on everything.
My challenge to you is to start reading the labels when you shop for everyday things and see what you can find that is made in the USA- the job you save may be your own or your neighbors!
(We should have awakened a decade ago.)
If you accept the challenge, pass this on to others in your address book so we can all start buying American, one light bulb at a time! Stop buying from overseas companies!
Let's get with the program .. Help our fellow Americans keep their jobs and create more jobs here in the U.S.A. ..
I Passed this on ......... Will you ??????
And finally, this story was in the news today:
Woman Charged after Threatening Roommates with Knife
Las Cruces Police have charged a woman who is suspected of threatening two roommates with a knife on Saturday evening.
Deborah Gladish, 60, was arrested early Sunday morning and is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, Las Cruces Police were called to the 100 block of west Willoughby Avenue where two people, a man and woman, told officers that Gladish threatened them with a knife.
Detectives learned that Gladish was upset with her roommates on Saturday and had taken a kitchen knife into her bedroom. At some point Gladish came out of the bedroom and threatened the two roommates with the knife, actually holding the blade about one inch from the male victim’s face.
Gladish then retreated to her bedroom and her roommates called 911. No physical injuries were reported.
Gladish was incarcerated at the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $10,000.
So our question is – What is the perp so happy about? Check out the mug shot -
