Here’s another picture of the Pet of the Week (Ray-Ano or Rellano)

Dog Ray-Ano 1

He’s an older dog but very sweet and if you’re looking for a great pet, you can find him (and others) at the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley.

The 101 number one song of the day received high praise from the writer of the song it knocked out of the top spot – Neil Sedaka. This song’s writer was not a stranger to the attention but nevertheless was pleased by Sedaka’s remarks.  The year was 1975 and Neil had been on a roll with his own recording comeback as well as compositions for other musicians. His song for the Captain and Tennille, “Love Will Keep Us Together” had been ruling the Hot 100 for four weeks before giving way to the song that dethroned it this week of that year. Sedaka said of the new number one, “A pop hit has to have hooks you can hang your hat on. The hooks can be either musical or lyrical, but the best is a marriage of both words and music. This song does both and it’s terrific.” America agreed but much of the world had been loving this writer’s work for over a decade by this time. It was Paul McCartney – although the record label just said, “Wings” - Listen to what the Man Said”
