At least it seems that way. We got about 4 or more inches of rain last night at the 101 Gold studios. Parking lot flooded and runoff drain (which is about 12-15 deep) is completely filled so the water has no place to go. Except into the garage. Lots of equipment pretty damp today. Oh well, here in Las Cruces we can always use the rain. Anybody want some? We’ve got extra.
Some notes from Udell Vigil from the City of Las Cruces:
Plans are in the works to beautify El Paseo from Main to University. The city is holding a series of public input meetings. One of them is today from 2-4 at SI Italian Bistro on Idaho. For more on this project go to: http://www.las-cruces.org/news/news_item.asp?NewsID=2290
Also, beginning today, Las Cruces Avenue from Church Street to Water Street will be closed for approximately 3 months while work to reopen Main St from Las Cruces Av to Lucero St continues.
The 101 number one song of the day was the biggest hit recorded by a band that came to national prominence after they were signed to be regulars on Dick Clark’s daily afternoon music show. And no – it wasn’t American Bandstand. The series was “Where The Action Is” and it debuted in the summer of ‘65 and the group went on to have nine top 20 hits before the decade was over. Although they were primarily known as a sixties band, their biggest hit came in the seventies. It was also their last top 20 hit. It was at the top of the charts on July 26, 1971 for the group once known as Paul Revere and the Raiders but now shortened to “The Raiders” and the song: Indian Reservation.
Gotta go and get buckets…many, many buckets.
