Today is National Bubba Day.

Here’s one guy who proudly claimed the name.

101 number one song of the day was described by its creator as “happy and sad” at the same time. What he actually said was, “the song was a happy accident, because I was so damned sad.” He was singing in a small club in Alabama at the time but one night, after he had just been dumped by his girlfriend, he could not bring himself to sing his regular repertoire of Beatles and Smokey Robinson songs. So he asked his bassist Cameron Lewis and organist Arthur Wright to play something in any key. With that, he proceeded to pour his heart out in song right there on stage. The result would become a number one song and it was atop the Billboard 100 on June 2, 1966. It turned into a huge payday for Lewis and Wright who were given complete writing credit by a very generous Percy Sledge. Here’s your 101 number one song of the day “When a Man Loves a Woman”

It’s a sinkhole in Guatemala that is roughly 30 stories deep. Spurred by tropical storm Agatha, it swallowed a three-story building on Sunday—and it could get even bigger. The sinkhole has likely been weeks or even years in the making—floodwaters from tropical storm Agatha caused the sinkhole to finally collapse, scientists say.

The five-bedroom Long Island, N.Y. house that inspired the "Amityville Horror" movie series is up for sale. Real estate agents hope the story of a multiple murder there and subsequent demonic doings will scare up some buyers.

Former owners George and Kathleen Lutz claimed to have witnessed walls oozing slime, disembodied voices and a pig-like creature with glowing eyes. They denied skeptics' claims that the whole thing was concocted for profit over a bottle of wine, but subsequent owners said they never saw anything unusual, except gawkers coming by because of the book and movies. Mike’s uncle lived across the street back in the late 50s and early 60s and he remembers visiting but nothing spooky happened.

The asking price for the house is $1.15 million. Real estate agents can put a good spin on anything...The ad says this house is "just oozing charm."

Carlos Mitchell of Bartow, Florida, is charged with robbing a Platinum Bank branch last Friday. Police say they're pretty sure he's the guy. He was apprehended while driving his mom's 2001 gold Chrysler Concorde, which matched the getaway vehicle. Inside it, they found his cell phone, which held photos he'd taken of himself wearing a brown ski mask matching the bank robber's, and photos of him holding a large amount of money.

In Florida, if you own a ski mask at all, it's probable cause to arrest you for robbery.

Officials in Roswell, New Mexico, may be pulling the financial plug on the annual UFO Festival. The event celebrates the supposed crash of a flying saucer near the town in the late 1940s. The festival includes a parade, complete with folks dressed as space aliens. But the City Council has approved a preliminary budget for next year, which doesn’t include any money for the festival. One council member says it’s outrageous to spend $150,000 of taxpayer money on the UFO event. This summer’s festival is already funded and will go ahead as planned.

Police in New Port Richey, Florida, said a man called 911 several times to report his mother had taken away his beer. Police said Charles Dennison, 32, called 911 multiple times last Friday and said he wanted his mother arrested for taking his beer. Cops said Dennison was “very intoxicated” when a deputy arrived. Dennison was charged with making false 911 calls and jailed in lieu of $150 bail.

And finally, the Pittsburgh Penguins are looking for 250 college students to help with an important task, and there’s only one major requirement – they must know how to flush a toilet. Construction is near completion on the Penguins’ new arena, the Consol Energy Center. But, like with any new arena or stadium, officials need to simultaneously flush all of the toilets and urinals to make sure everything is working. The Penguins are calling the June 10th event the “Student Flush,” a spinoff of their popular ticketing program known as “Student Rush.” Students already involved in the ticketing program can enter for a chance to win. In all, there will be 400 flushers, including some construction officials, on hand that day. Hope all “goes” well.
