The 101 number one song of the day was recorded by a woman who got her first job not so much because of her talent, but because she looked like someone else. She grew up in Inglewood, CA where people would often tell her how much she resembled another woman who was a regular on TV. That prompted her to write a fan letter and the two women then got together to meet. The TV star agreed that there was a remarkable resemblance. As it so happened, she was about to host her own variety show and she asked today’s featured artist to join the cast in an ongoing role as her sister. The show became a huge hit and she would soon be in America’s living rooms every week. While she was becoming known for her comedic skills she recorded a song that was written by her then husband, Bobby Russell who, incidentally, wrote yesterday’s 101 number one song also (Honey.) Bobby didn’t think the song was any good but his wife did and so did America. It was number one on this day April 19, 1972 for Carol Burnett lookalike, Vicki Lawrence (The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia)

Some other items we touched on today during Your Morning Show with Mike & KC

Your Nintendo Wii could turn you into a nymphomaniac.

A woman in England says she fell off her Wii fit board…

and has been in a constant state of arousal ever since. The slightest vibration sets her off…and she says she needs sex ten times a day. Her doctor said when she fell off the Wii pad…she damaged a nerve. -All I’m saying is…that doesn’t generally happen…when you’re playing Scrabble!!! -I mean, Twister – maybe…

And finally, a clothing company in Australia has fit-wear for men. These are tight-fitting underclothes that shape the body and help you hide bulges. They say their target audience is middle-aged, middle-management. They’re under a lot of pressure to look fit – but don’t have the time to exercise. We’re basically talking about a girdle. Only in this case…a ‘guy-dle’.

That’s kind of disturbing. Hope you can still have a good weekend.
