Today is Awkward Moments Day, a time to celebrate the humor of life's uncomfortable situations. Today is National Biodiesel Day.

101 Number One Song of the Day: was recorded by a rock and roll superstar whose name is as recognizable today as it was then. Yet it was his ONLY solo effort to crack the top 30. (It’s coming up next) Over the years he was in bands with some of rock and roll’s other more recognizable names such as Rick James – ever hear of the Mynah Birds? Not too many have but everyone knows the B-Y-R-D Byrds and he eventually hooked up with one of their well known names. Before that, he formed a band with Stephen Stills which became Buffalo Springfield. After that Stills got together with ex-Hollie, Graham Nash and the aforementioned Byrd, David Crosby. Eventually, they convinced their friend to make it a foursome. When they went their separate ways, today’s featured artist pursued his desire to work alone and on March 18, 1972 one of his solo efforts was the number one song in America. It was the only time he penetrated the top 40 on his own. It’s Neil Young, with “Heart of Gold” - today’s 101 number One song of the Day.

A dancing goat has become something of a local celebrity in a Chinese village. Owner Zhao Huaiyun, of Gao'an village, Mianzhu, southwest China's Sichuan province, says his goat loves to dance. He has been offered a small fortune for the eight-month-old animal but is refusing to sell it. "It's like a kid, always following me everywhere I go," he said. People were coming from all over the area to see it peform, Zhao added. "Whenever it has a bit of free time, it will stand up and dance in a circle and even shake hands with visitors," he said.

A St Lucia man who lives in a corrugated lean-to, without electricity or water, has turned down an offer of a fortune for his land. Claudius Lousien, 70, sleeps on a rackety old lounger which has long since lost its linen cover and the foam padding has all but disintegrated. His lifestyle is organic in the extreme - dinner consists of the fish he catches cooked on the left-over coals from his charcoal fire. But he says his 55 sun-drenched acres of undulating hillside and mangroves overlooking white-tipped waves and turquoise waters are priceless. "This is a nice place, cool and quiet, with all these beautiful trees," he replies when asked why he wouldn't sell to the man who offered him $60m for his land, "I want to be buried here." His home is atop a hill at Anst La Voute with a commanding view in all directions. The only sounds are waves, bird song and the crackle of a charcoal fire. Mr Lousien and his father before him were born on the Caribbean island - and he has never had to visit a doctor or a dentist.
