an event so big they need today AND tomorrow to celebrate it!
And it’s National Chocolate Chip Day too.

Music History 101: 1957: The Everly Brothers introduced their latest single on the Ed Sullivan Show. The song was banned by many radio stations as being too controversial. "Wake Up, Little Susie"
The 101 number one song of the day was recorded by the very first artist signed by the Beatles’ Apple Records and he happened to be an American. He’d go on to have a huge career but this was his only number one hit.
The song was written by Carole King who said that “It was one of those moments when I sat down at the piano and it wrote itself from some place other than me.” She was the opening act in the spring of 1971 for the artist you’re about to here who by this time had left England and Apple records but he was still working with the man who had signed him to Apple – Peter Asher of Peter and Gordon became his producer. Carole was just beginning to ride the incredible wave of success brought on by her recording of the Tapestry Album and just two weeks before this song arrived at Number one, she was on top with her double sided hit “It’s Too Late” and “I feel the Earth Move.” Now it was her friend’s turn with a song that was also on the Tapestry LP. It was number one on August 4, 1971. And it would be the only number one song - for James Taylor (You’ve Got a Friend)

SpongeBob Gone Bad
Authorities in Florida are trying to identify an armed man who robbed a 7-11 store while dressed as SpongeBob Squarepants. Osceola County sheriff’s spokesman Twis Lizasuain said the costumed robber and a second man held up the store outside of Orlando last Thursday and escaped with a drawer full of cash. Lizasuain said shots were fired during the incident, but no injuries were reported. “It’s not unusual for criminals to disguise their identity,” Lizasuain said. “It is unusual he would use that particular character.”
…since it’s Underwear Day…THE END!
