National Peanut Brittle Day.

Pretty lame, huh?  KC hates it, Mike loves it.

Music History 101: January 26, 1984: This singer was hospitalized with scalp burns after a spark ignited his hair during filming of a Pepsi TV commercial. It was, of course, Michael Jackson.

The 101 number one song of the day was the second number one hit for a guy born in the middle of a London air raid. As a child he was often sick, spending at least three years in the hospital. Then his stepdad gave him a set of drums for Christmas and it changed his life.  His first musical group was the Eddie Clayton Skiffle Band. Later he joined Rory Storm and the Hurricanes which became the houseband at a club in Hamburg where he would meet his future bandmates. Later, when that group broke up he went out on his own and on January 26th 1974 he notched his second number one song as a solo act and it is today’s 101 number one song of the day for Ringo Starr – a cover of Johnny Burnette’s top ten song of 1960 – You’re Sixteen (It’s Paul on the Kazoo.)

Glad that it’s Wednesday – or ‘hump day’? Here’s why. British researchers found Tuesday is the most stressful day at work. In fact, they’ve even pinpointed it farther – saying 10 a.m. on Tuesday is the most stressful hour of the workweek. Their research says most employees breeze through Mondays gearing up for the workweek – and the thought of our work schedule is most likely to overwhelm us on Tuesday morning.

-And it’s not until…what - right now on Wednesday that we realize we’re not going to get to most of it this week anyway.

More pedestrians are getting killed on American streets – and some people are blaming Michelle Obama. They say the First Lady’s campaign to get Americans more active has more people walking – and apparently they’re walking in front of cars.

-Okay –did she forget to mention – ‘look both ways’?
