Look for the Box that Rocks
and join Donna Dollar this Sunday from 1 to 3 at the grand opening of "Forever Friends Pet Services" at 1420 E. Bowman Ave just off Solano, one block north of Amador. At Forever Friends Pet Services, they know that your pet is just like a member of the family and they’ll be treated that way.
Stop by for free ice cold drinks from Pepsi, snacks from Frito Lay, catch the K-9 crew from the Sheriff’s Department and LCPD as well as Thera-Paws. Also, there will be fingerprinting for children.
Speaking of pets, here’s this week’s featured animal from the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley –
Nelson is a “min-pin” – a mini pinscher and is about 7 years old. He’s neutered, well behaved, a little plump and very loving. Do you know of somebody who might provide him a good home? The Animal Services Center of Mesilla Valley is at 3551 Bataan Memorial Highway in Las Cruces.
The 101 number one song of the day comes from the group that has been called “the largest selling quartet in the history of recorded music.” If you think you know exactly who this fabulous foursome is – you’re probably wrong. But we’ll get back to that in just a moment. Most international artists would be thrilled to have an American track record that included a number one song, three other top 10 hits and nine additional singles that made the top 30. But the members of this group consider America to be their only failure. In Britain, for example, they scored nine number ones and had 18 consecutive top 10 singles. Despite un-matched world wide sales, their only charttopper here in the states arrived at number one on April 9th, 1977 for Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Anni-Frid – together, they were ABBA and this is the 101 number one song of the day – “Dancing Queen”

Other news:
Believe it or not - someone is stealing horse tails from NMSU!
Recently four quarter-horses at the Equestrian Center have had their tails snipped off. One tail was valued at $500. Horsehair, which is used in the manufacture of stringed instrument bows and paintbrushes, is sold online for up to $300 per pound, depending on the rarity of its color. Who knew? That’s some expensive piece of tail!
And finally…this one is really incredible…and we’ll try to use terms that aren’t offensive. An Oklahoma City man with a fetish for flatulence told police he was assaulted by another man he met over the Internet. He met the man on-line, and the man offered to come to his house and ‘pass gas’ for him. But when the man arrived, the visitor attacked and sexual assaulted the man. The victim admitted he waited a couple days to call police – because he was embarrassed. The police couldn’t tell if the victim was pulling their leg…or their finger???
Happy Weekend!
